These hangers can support up to 75 lbs each so two per fixture means the total weight of the fixture can be up to 175 lbs. Each of my grow light weighs about 6 lbs. Because I'm using this on a PVC seed starting rack that I made, I looped the single carabiner over the support bar and clipped it onto the rope. The ratchet assembly hook I have clipped to the light so that I can adjust it up and down. It's really easy to adjust the height: to raise it, I just pull on the excess rope and it ratchets up and holds its position. To lower it, I take up the excess and lift the light a little (to ensure the weight is supported), then press down on the release latch and slowly release some of the excess rope to lower the light until it reaches the desired height before releasing the latch. Then I give the excess rope a slight tug to ensure that the ratchet "clicks" and holds the position. The internal gears of the ratchet assembly are metal and seem to be heavy duty. The rest of the housing of the ratchet assembly is plastic. The knots that were initially tied beneath to hooks to secure them were a bit loose, so I took them out and retied them with an anchor bend knot.
