Russ and I go spring steelhead fishing on the Pere Marquette with streamers. Fly fishing for spring steelhead is traditionally done in the Great Lakes area with nymphs and egg patterns while drifting them under indicators or with bottom bouncing gear. We prefer less numbers but better bites casting and stripping streamers for them. Some nice brown trout can be caught using the same technique.
