Plant High
Consistently ranked as the top public high school in the Tampa Bay area, Plant High is located in South Tampa. Plant High is ranked 39th within the state and serves grades 9-12 with more than 2400 students. Plant boasts a 97% graduation rate and more than 80% of students at the school participate in Advanced Placement coursework and exams.
Plant High has a music and art program, state championship sports teams, a large variety of clubs including foreign language clubs, honors clubs, tech clubs, service clubs and more. They have specialized programs for AVID, AP Capstone, aerospace science/JROTC and CTE (career and technical education) specialties in business, accounting, business design, sports marketing, web development, customer service and more.
South Tampa is one of Tampa’s historic districts. It is close to MacDill Air Force Base and downtown Tampa. Housing options include historic bungalows, modern single family homes, townhouses and condos. This area of town doesn’t have distinct neighborhoods but sections include Palma Ceia, Bayshore, Hyde Park, Sunset Park and Ballast Point. It is a very desirable area of Tampa Bay and most home prices start at $500,000 for condos and townhomes and $650,000 for smaller single family homes.

Steinbrenner
Ranked at the No. 2 public high school in Hillsborough County, Steinbrenner High is located in Lutz in northwest part of the county. Steinbrenner High is ranked 41st within Florida. It serves grades 9-12 and has more than 2450 students. Steinbrenner boasts a 98% graduation rate and offers 27 Advanced Placement classes with more than 78% of students participating.
Steinbrenner has a strong music and art program, state championship sports teams, an agriculture program, a large variety of clubs and more.
They have specialized programs for driver’s education, theatre, music, art, AVID, AP Capstone, JROTC and CTE (career and technical education) specialties in information technology, agriculture, Army leadership and education, business management, culinary arts, exercise science, game design, sports marketing and veterinary medicine.
Steinbrenner is located in Lutz. Popular neighborhoods that attend Steinbrenner include Cheval, VillaRosa, Heritage Harbor, Montreux, Stonebrier and Wyndham Lakes as well as smaller communities in Odessa.

Newsome High
Ranked at the No. 3 public high school in Hillsborough County, Newsome High is located in Lithia in the southeast part of the county. Newsome High is ranked 48th within Florida public schools. It serves grades 9-12 and has more than 2900 students. Newsome boasts a 99% graduation rate and has more than 74% of students participating in Advanced Placement classes.
Newsome has a strong career and technical program with specialties in agribusiness, AVID, business technology, criminal justice, family consumer sciences, fine arts including music and art, JROTC, theater, driver’s education and TV production.
Newsome is located in Lithia, a popular suburb with downtown commuters. Popular neighborhoods that attend Newsome include FishHawk Ranch, Hawkstone and Creek Ridge Preserve.
