Hello everyone! We’ve received the Primogem count for the version 5.4 update, and the numbers are pretty disappointing. The amount of Primogems we’ll get in version 5.4 is significantly less than what we can obtain in the current 5.3 patch. The main reason for this is the lack of map expansions in version 5.4. It’s worth noting that version 5.3 also doesn’t have any map expansions, but the Lantern Rite Festival compensates for it. However, I can’t say the same about the next update.

Typically, the Lantern Rite Festival takes place in every X.4 patch, but that won’t be the case this time. This is one of the reasons why we’re getting fewer rewards than usual. As a result, the 5.4 update is shaping up to be a dry patch with not much content to offer. Nevertheless, let’s take a look at all the rewards we’ll get in version 5.4.

The source of this information is Spletnik Fatui, a reliable source, so a huge shout-out to them for providing the numbers! Alright, starting with the first thing—as soon as version 5.4 is available, all players will receive 600 Primogems from Hoyoverse for server maintenance. The update will last for 42 days, meaning you can collect a total of 2,520 Primogems by completing daily commissions regularly without missing a day. Unfortunately, there won’t be any rewards from achievements or the offering system, which is a letdown.

Although no new areas will be added, we will get some story and event quests. The first one is, of course, the story quest for Mizuki, since she’s a 5-star character. Completing it will grant around 160 Primogems. Next up are the events. The main event for version 5.4 will take place in Inazuma. While I’m not certain which festival it will be, I would love to participate in another Irodori Festival. Like other flagship events, we’ll get 1,000 Primogems along with other in-game materials. Additionally, we’ll receive a free 4-star weapon this time. It’s a polearm that provides 565 attack and a 30.6% energy recharge bonus at level 90. Its passive effect increases attack and movement speed by 20% and 10%, respectively, for 10 seconds after using an Elemental Skill.

As for the remaining three events, there’ll be a fishing event, a tower battle event, and some kind of filming event. Combining all the rewards from these events, you can earn a total of 2,420 Primogems.

Moving on, the 5.4 update will go live on February 12th and last until March 25th. This means the Spiral Abyss will reset twice during the update, allowing us to collect 1,600 Primogems from it. The Imaginarium Theatre will also reset once on March 1st, granting 800 Primogems.

Similarly, the Paimon Shop will reset once on March 1st. This means you’ll be able to obtain five intertwined fates and five acquaint fates from the shop. You can also earn approximately 200 to 400 Primogems from character trials, Hoyolab check-ins, and web events. Lastly, three new redeem codes worth 300 Primogems will be released during the version 5.5 special program.

If we add up all these numbers, free-to-play players will receive a total of 9,350 Primogems, which is equivalent to 58 pulls. That’s not even enough to hit soft pity, let alone guarantee a 5-star character.

As you all know, Mizuki is the only character releasing in version 5.4, and she will join the standard banner in the patch after that. Therefore, you could consider avoiding pulling for her and saving for reruns, especially since many players will likely be out of Primogems after pulling on the 5.3 banners. Keep in mind that these numbers are subject to change, as we’re still in the beta phase.
