The Self-Contained God and the One-and-Many Problem

Описание к видео The Self-Contained God and the One-and-Many Problem

Traditional approaches to the philosophical problem of the one and the many have ended with either ultimate universality or ultimate particularity. Idealists sought to avoid this dilemma by bringing the universal and the particular, the eternal and the temporal, into a process of mutual development. Lane Tipton explains how Cornelius Van Til's approach, which begins with a categorical assertion of the equal ultimacy of the eternal one and many in the self-contained God, provides the only foundation upon which to make sense of temporal unity and diversity.
