India Sends NDRF Team & Relief Materials To Quake-Hit Turkey, 4000+ Killed And Thousands Injured

On Tuesday, India deployed the first batch of earthquake relief material to earthquake-ravaged Turkey onboard an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft, including an NDRF search and rescue team, dog squads, and medical supplies. Since early Monday, a series of earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.8, 7.6, and 6 have ravaged portions of southeast Turkey and northern Syria, killing over 4,000 people. Relief supplies will be delivered in collaboration with the Turkish government, the Indian Embassy in Ankara, and the Consulate General in Istanbul. The 51-member NDRF team, led by Deputy Commandant Deepak Talwar, took off from Ghaziabad's Hindon Airport in the early hours of Tuesday aboard an Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft bound for Turkey.
