Smith Mountain Lake is located in #roanoke city #virginia. It is a highland #reservoir and is known to produce quality largemouth and smallmouth bass. In practice bass were staging under docks on primary points leading into spawning pockets. After throwing multiple #baits I landed a 3-pound 8 oz #bass on a Crush City Mayor Swim Bait. I ran with that pattern the rest of the day, targeting docks and ended practice with best 5 weighing 14 pounds.

On Tournament Day, we had a major weather shift. Heave rain, water temperatures dropped from 59 to 51 degrees which caused the bass to move to hard structure (rocks) on those same points. After locating and trying a dozen baits, around noon we started to catch them on #chatterbait in 2-4 feet. I landed a 7 lb 5oz #lunker winning big fish and my Co-Angkler landed 3 for 12 lb 10 oz placeing 2nd overall. #fishing #bassfishing #lakefishing #trending
