How to create a popup message in Excel without using VBA
Sometimes we create a workbook template for different purposes. We need to create documentation for these templates and also create a tiny message box to specific cells to indicate its purposes. Creating comments are not safe for this type of task. People can unknowingly delete comments. Creating a VBA pop-up is too annoying for this. We need something subtle. We need to convey our message and without become annoying and also in a way people can’t delete it. You might have already seen this. If you download an Excel template, you can see the first sheet is used for documentation, and certain cells have comments like pop-up stating essential things of that cell. This is where the Data Validation Popup message comes in.

Step 1: Go to the “Data” tab.
Step 2: Click on “Data Validation”
Step 3: Click on “Input Message”
Step 4: Write the Popup Message you want to display
Step 5: Click, ok.
