Before you can start researching keywords, you need some starting points. What do you do to start the keyword research process?
First, get organized. In this video, Dave Clemen, VP of Digital Marketing at LSC Digital, shows off his organizational word documents that he fills as the keyword research process goes on.
Next, understand what your end goal is for this research. At the end of the day, you want keywords that have high search volume, have low competition and are highly relevant.
Last, get some starting points. Dave recommends asking the sales team about questions they receive on calls. What are the commonly asked questions and does content exist that answers those questions? If not, that's exactly where to start!
