The serene hills that form Laitlum Grand Canyon (30 Kms from Shillong)

Hello Travellers,

I’m excited to post the last part of my travel vlog series - Mesmerising Meghalaya. Follow my journey across Meghalaya on one hypnotising trip as I take you down the rabbit hole: arguably, the best hitchhiking, backpacking, travel experience in northeast India.

In this part I have covered beautiful, calm, mighty, misty canyons -- Laitlum(end of hills). An offbeat drive through the rarest stretches of countryside. If you haven’t visited the village of Laitlum - Rasong, there’s probably a good reason: the village is located deep inside and one has to climb and descend 3,000 steps. The only way to get there is by hiking. In fact, it’s the most remote town in the entire state - and it’s well worth the inconvenience. Laitlum grand canyons also has several waterfalls flowing down the valley gracefully.

OMG!! An Experience like no other. Did you know that there is a Grand Canyon in our own backyard- yes, safely tucked away near Shillong, in a Khasi village: Laitlum, Meghalaya.

See a few glimpses of this natural beauty in my last part of Mesmerising Meghalaya VLOG series - “Laitlum”
