Описание к видео How to Set Up Port Forwarding on Your Router (TP-Link)

In this video, I provide a step-by-step procedure for implementing port forwarding for a device in a home network.

Here is the web page I used to find the port forwarding settings I needed to put in place to host a Minecraft server on my laptop: https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/a...

The port checker I used in this video is at the following site: www.portchecker.co

How to set up port forwarding
If you want to set up port forwarding for a device on your home network, there are a few things you need to have in place.

For one, the device that you’re setting up port forwarding for should have a static IP address.
In order to set a static IP address for your device, you need to access your router’s settings. In your router’s settings, you should be able to manually assign an IP address that is outside the range of IP addresses that your router uses to automatically assign to devices as they connect to your network (i.e. the DHCP pool).

Once your device has a static IP address assigned, you need to set up a port forwarding rule on your router.

To do so, you’ll need to know the external port that’s used for port forwarding that particular device. In the example I discuss in the video, the default port for hosting a Minecraft server out of your home is 25565.

Once you’ve identified what port you’ll be using, along with the service type of the port forwarding (e.g. http), you just need to have the IP address of the device on your home network that you’d like to set up port forwarding for.

With all this information in hand, you should be able to set up a port forwarding rule on your router that will forward the desired traffic to the device on your home network. To be sure that everything is working properly, you can use an online port checker like portchecker.co to test the port you opened for port forwarding.
