Did you notice this in the amazing digital circus?

During the after credits scene in episode 6 we learn that caine might be close to abstracting. Let me explain.

So throughout the show we’ve seen caine steadily getting worse. It’s really apparent when he interacts with zooble, he’s pretty terrifying.

At the end of episode 6 we find out that caine got no votes in the favourite character awards. He glitches out, with his eyes turning red and blue.

This is a clear reference to the book i have no mouth and i must scream, which the digital circus is based on. Caine’s glitch is clearly a reference to the 1983 front cover.

In the storyboard for that scene we see caine was supposed to glitch even further, with part of his teeth turning black, implying that he’s starting to abstract.

Lastly during episode 3 kinger said the worst thing you can do is make someone think they’re not wanted or loved, which is what’s currently happening to caine.
