One person was transported to Harborview Medical Center after they opened fire on police near the 1800 block of S 333rd Street.

According to Comm. Kurt Schwan, police were initially called to the Macy's at The Commons Mall for a robbery.

Officers were able to track down the suspect's vehicle and they tried to perform a traffic stop. One of the occupants opened fire on police and three officers returned fire. The male occupant was struck.

Officers performed aid until he was transported to HMC, in an unknown condition.

None of the officers were injured.

Schwan said he did not know the status of any of the other passengers in the vehicle, but does not believe there is any further threat.
