Within each sign, there are three parts called Drekkana. The first 10 degrees are considered optimal in movable signs, 10 to 20 degrees in fixed signs, and the last 10 degrees in dual signs. Planets positioned in these specific parts are deemed strong.

Another concept introduced is Vargottama, where a planet is repeatedly in the same sign in both the D1 and D9 charts. Planets that are both Uttama Drekkana and Vargottama are considered particularly strong.
