ABAM, WSKH & CNTC STRONGLY OPPOSES IMPLEMENTATION OF UCC

Nagaland’s Three Apex Bodies, ABAM, WSKH & CNTC Has Joined Various Civil Bodies Of Nagaland Over The Implementation Of Uniform Civil Code. Raising Concerns In Separate Statement, The Three Bodies Expressed Strong Opposition Against Centre’s Move To Legislate UCC Throughout India. ABAM Stated That Imposition Of UCC Was An Ulterior Motive To Erode Cultural Autonomy & Dilute Unique Constitutional Rights Of Tribal Christians, Whereas, WSKH Stated That It Would Not Accept Imposition Of UCC In Nagaland & It Infringes Upon Article 371 (A), While CNTC Stated That UCC In Its Present Form Was Against The Idea Of India & Cautions UCC Against Severing Umbilical Cord Connecting NL With Indian Union.
