Mastodon - Seabeast Bass Cover

The third track off “Leviathan” is perhaps the most unique on the record. It starts off with an eerie intro foreshadowing the beast of a song you’re about hear and it’s the first time we’ve heard Mastodon with “clean” vocals featuring Brent Hinds. This one was the toughest by far. I tried my best to use Troy Sanders fingering which is not what I’m used to but I did find that it really brought out the sound of the bass on this song. Oh, and this one has mixed meters for days! Ok to be honest all Mastodon songs do but this one had me stumped for a day.
Finally, it has one the best Mastodon riffs at the very end and that’s saying something! Don’t sleep on this one. It’s a monster of a song!
