This team consists of characters coming from the Art of Fighting series. In the first two games of the series, this team consisted of Ryo Sakazaki, Robert Garcia and Takuma Sakazaki, the three main protagonists of the classic series and the main practitioners of the Kyokugenryu Karate Style.

Starting with The King of Fighters '96, the team would begin shaking up their dynamic, with Yuri Sakazaki (Ryo's younger sister and young apprencite of the family's style) and King (a French bartender residing from South Town and Ryo's love interest) joining with the team in some moments.
