Join me on a winter adventure as I hike to Eagle’s Nest, a spectacular lookout point near the town of Calabogie in Ontario. Along the way, I face some challenges, such as icy roads, falling snow, and dying batteries, but I also enjoy the beauty of the snowy landscape. I learn about the history and culture of the Algonquin people, who have lived in this area for thousands of years and have a spiritual connection to the land. I also discover the mystery behind the name of Calabogie, which may come from either a Gaelic or an Algonquin word. Finally, I reach Eagle’s Nest and marvel at the stunning view of the lake and the river from the top of a 20-meter-high granite cliff.
