Скачать или смотреть My SF RoboTaxi Ride Wouldn’t Start… Awkward First Trip 😬

I tried the new RoboTaxi here in San Francisco, and my first ride… did NOT go as planned 😬
I hopped in expecting a full autonomous experience, but the car wouldn’t even start the trip.
The driver tried to connect to support, but the support team didn’t really help — so we sat there awkwardly for a few minutes until they finally told him to just drive manually.

Not exactly the futuristic ride I was expecting 😅

After getting dropped off at Fitness SF Soma (shoutout to them!), I took another RoboTaxi ride home.
This time, it worked — quiet, smooth, but honestly?
Still awkward having a human driver inside what’s supposed to be a self-driving taxi.. at least I thought... the driver explained in CA they do not have the licensing that Waymo does so there must be a certified driver present at all times. This is also why the vehicle doesn't have the "RoboTaxi" badge as seen on the vehicles in Austin, TX.

By the end of the day…
I kinda still prefer Waymo in the Bay Area.
Way cleaner experience, way less confusion, and you actually get the full autonomous vibe. But Zoox is on the list to try next...
