It’s the text you never want to receive. About a week before her Northern Wisconsin wedding, Stephanie texted us saying her father had unexpectedly passed away. Our hearts sank. We couldn’t imagine what she was going through and couldn’t imagine her continuing on with her wedding. After some time, she mustered up the courage and decided to move forward with her wedding because she knew that was what her dad would have wanted. He would have wanted everyone to have an amazing time and celebrate his life along with his daughter’s marriage. As wedding videographers and storytellers we knew that this needed to be a big part of her wedding day story. We wanted to make her father a big part of the day but we didn’t know exactly how. Then it happened. The sun peaked out on the cold overcast New Year’s Eve in Wisconsin, “It’s dad. He’s here” she whispered as she approached her groom anxiously waiting for their first look.

Man oh man, Stephanie and her mom sure know how to plan a dream Northern Wisconsin wedding! We suppose it helps being in the industry ❤️ Stephanie was stunning, beautiful, and most importantly strong. Her dad passed away just a few days prior to her big day,and although he wasn’t there with us, his presence was felt all day. We couldn’t have been more honored to capture Stephanie and Bill’s big day. Happy New Year Everyone! Looking for Northern WI wedding venues? look no further than JJ’s Acres in Minocqua WI. Although they had never hosted a wedding before this place was the perfect spot! It had a small intimate feel, yet a romantic and fun vibe all wrapped together. We loved the glass walls that allowed guests to catch a break outside, but still feel a part of the wedding. They also had a perfect bar area, firepit outdoors, and of course an amazing dance floor. We aren’t sure they will host another wedding in the future, but if you’re look for wedding venues near Minocqua WI, it might be worth your while to give JJ’s Acres a call.
