Sentrumsløpet Sub 40 Race Report // 2022

Описание к видео Sentrumsløpet Sub 40 Race Report // 2022

Had an awesome time at this years Sentrumsløpet 10K in Oslo, Norway! Although I was kinda hoping for a sub 39, I am very pleased with going sub 40 for the 10K on this rough course! Let's dive into pacing, pain, emotions and lots more!

Sentrumsløpet is one of the oldest races in Norway and draws a large attendance. Thousands of runners line up for a race that goes through the capital of Norway on a gruelling course with plenty of hills and tricky surfaces to deal with. The crowd is electric and the vibe is high - but of course none of that enters into the mind if the runners (at least not mine) since they are in a sea of pain! Good pain though :)

I ran a race I'm happy with. I had nothing left at the end and I feel like I paced it well. Although my initial goal was sub 39, I knew it was a stretch since the course profile is somewhat hilly. It's not "mountain-hilly" of course, but certinly not flat either. It requires a good mix of endurance, grit and mental toughness - like any 10K would.

I quickly realized it was going to be a fierce battle for sub 40, and I never gave up on that - even when the average pace was hovering at 3:58 for a lot of the way.

In this video I'll talk a bit about my experience with the race, how it went, what I felt along the way and how I paced it. Let me now what you thnk about it by leaving a comment!
