Ono, Shasta County, California

Описание к видео Ono, Shasta County, California

Ono began as a gold rush town and has evolved into a rural ranching and farming community. The history discussed in this video includes how it got its name and some buildings that once existed.

If you choose to visit the town and its history in-person, you can drive from Hwy 273 for 14 miles along Clear Creek Road to Ono (Clear Creek Road turns into Platina Road at the intersection with Gas Point and Placer Roads). You’ll drive through the area where many mining communities and activities took place. Look for the historical marker where gold was first discovered in the county and for the gravel piles left by dredging. Another route follows Placer Road out of Redding to the intersection with Clear Creek, Platina, and Gas Point Roads. Turn right and drive the final 4 miles to Ono.
