DSudP was produced in West Germany and featured a popular actress from the country, Karin Dor, but the film was very much designed to appeal to the international market as well. To that end, two stars from English-language pictures, American Lex Barker and British Christopher Lee, were cast in prominent roles and delivered their performances in English. Sadly, neither actor dubbed his own voice for the German-language edition, though both could speak the language. The first of the English-dubbed versions followed about a year and a half after the German original and was released as "The Blood Demon," though it has since been reissued under a variety of names, the most ludicrous of which is "The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism."

The English-language subtitles which accompany this video were compiled especially for this channel. I began with a subtitle file (found at opensubtitles.com) which was not a translation of the German dialog, but a transcription of the English-dubbed version, which isn't quite the same thing. I augmented that file with selections from two different computer-generated translations of the German soundtrack (edited for clarity and flow) in order to more closely match the original dialog.
