Cumbria Way Challenge: The Epic Conclusion From Caldbeck To Carlisle - Day 5!

Starting in the village of Caldbeck we head out on our final day of the Cumbria Way.
We start with a slight diversion due to a landslip near to Caldbeck but soon get back to the ‘official route.
The day will take us through or close to a few small Cumbrian villages. Although a relatively flat walk, one of the main features is the river which we trace through woodland and farmland on our way to Carlisle.
It is a gentle, low level walk which is good news for us, as this particular day was very windy. We eventually reach the village of Buckabank and then it is not too much further to the village of Dalston
where we stop for refreshments before completing the final stretch to Carlisle.
As we approach the city, the countryside gives way to urban features of factories and houses and Carlisle Cathedral comes in to sight.
As we head into the historic quarter of the city we pass the cathedral and reach the official finish point of the Cumbria Way in the square.
