Full of character: robust exterior design with the new Opel Blitz
The new Frontera impresses at first glance with its robust interpretation of Opel's bold and pure design philosophy. The straight front silhouette and unique front proportions of the new Frontera combine a functional and spacious interior volume with a very bold and robust, yet expressive and modern look.
The black Vizor with the new Opel “Blitz” emblem gives the front of the Frontera a unique identity and seamlessly integrates the Intelli-LED headlights with automatic high beam. The Vizor is supported by a trapezoidal cooling opening in the lower third and underlines the car’s solid and robust appearance. Opel’s famous “wing signature” shines in a modern interpretation with three light clusters on the vertical axis. The side view reveals a distinctive C-pillar, which visually divides the spacious interior. Elsewhere, pronounced wheel arches and fenders plant the car firmly on the road while giving the newcomer a solid and modern appearance.
Intelligent solutions for connectivity and comfort meet interior flexibility
The modern look continues in the interior, where intelligent design meets practicality. Wide horizontal decors on the dashboard and doors visually expand the already airy interior. In addition, the fully digital Opel-typical Pure Panel cockpit with 10-inch driver information display and, if desired, an equally large infotainment screen, attracts just as much attention as the elegant new steering wheel. For customers who prefer to use their own mobile device, the entry-level version comes as standard with an innovative and practical smartphone dock instead of the central display. In addition, Opel is once again making seat innovations accessible to a wide range of buyers in the new Frontera with the patented Intelli-Seat function. And in line with Opel’s “Greenovation” approach, the optionally available Intelli-Seat seats are made from recycled materials and are therefore sustainable.
The driving pleasure and comfort of this newcomer are further enhanced by a series of intelligent solutions, from the wireless charger to the five USB-C ports available in the seven-seater version. Larger devices that would normally not fit properly in the passenger compartment, such as tablets, can be safely stowed in the centre console thanks to a flexible strap that holds them in place. Smartphone pockets in the front seat backrests as well as other open storage spaces in the passenger compartment can accommodate everyday hand luggage with a rubber lining that prevents rattling and sliding.
The new Frontera also impresses with its flexible loading capacity. With the rear seats folded down, it offers up to 1,600 litres of loading volume, with the rear bench seat split 60:40. Once at the destination, the family-friendly Frontera can easily accommodate a roof tent thanks to a stationary roof load of up to 240 kilograms.
Always electrified: Frontera Electric or Frontera Hybrid with 48-volt technology
To ensure responsible driving pleasure, customers can choose between a battery-electric drive and a highly efficient hybrid drive with 48-volt technology. Starting at €23,900, the Frontera Hybrid is equipped with a 74 kW (100 hp) 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine specially designed for hybrid use. This engine works in combination with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor and a six-speed electrified dual-clutch gearbox, so that fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are significantly lower than those of a conventionally powered model. In addition, the Frontera Hybrid is also available in combination with a 1.2-litre turbo engine with 100 kW (136 hp) from €25,700.
