Many guitar builders use bone saddles in their acoustic guitars, with plastic being fitted to many budget instruments. The argument for bone is that the transfer of energy from bridge to the top is enhanced by its natural resonance, which increases clarity and drives sustain.
Recently, there have been new materials brought to market, including NuBone and TUSQ, both synthetic bone derivatives.

In this week's show, we put these new materials alongside more traditional ones, including Ebony, to the test as we try to show what’s really going on.
