Following the publication of the controversial book,"The Lost Boys of Bird Island", there's been renewed interest in the island.
It lies 58 kilometers north-east of Port Elizabeth and our news team has unearthed a permit that was issued by the Monument Council in the 1980's, granting a PE businessman Dave Allan permission for a diving expedition, near the Island. Dave Allan is one of the men identified in the book written by Chris Steyn and Mark Minnie.
It implicates, among others, former National Party ministers Magnus Malan and John Wiley, as well as Allen, in an alleged government pedophile ring in the 80's.
