Craft as an Embodied Care Practice

Описание к видео Craft as an Embodied Care Practice

This panel brings together three feminist fiber artists, cultural workers, and art therapists, to discuss the intersection of craft, care and community. They will use examples from their own art making and from community art therapy projects they’ve facilitated to show how crafting can nurture well-being and joy to support the interconnected processes of individual and community healing. Additionally, they will focus on the metaphors inherent in textile practices— making, mending, repeating, undoing, among others—and how these metaphors relate to an embodied practice that helps people build capacity, power, and accountability.
