Today I want to talk about the most common sarcoidosis symptoms and some different ideas on treating this problem.

Your body has something known as inflammation. This is why there is swelling with an injury, redness with sunburns and of course pain with arthritis.

Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory problem and some people believe it's an autoimmune disorder where the immune system just doesn't work correctly.

What happens is a bunch of cells form clumps known as granulolas in organs. Th most common areas affected lungs, skin, eyes and liver, but it can affect anything.

The problem is that symptoms usually don't take place right away and there are different symptoms depending on which organ has been affected.

It's estimated that 90% of people suffer from granulosis in the lungs, which can bring about problems in breathing as you can imagine. This would be a dry cough, wheezing and feeling like you can't breath as well.

If the sarcoidosis affects the skin there could be acne like pimples a rash or purple patches of scally skin believe it or not.

If it's in the eyes it's going to negatively affect your vision, perhaps making it blurry and you will be sensitive to sunlight almost like you have a hangover.

Another common symptom is joint pain due to the inflammation. Lastly if it's in the liver there really are no symptoms with the nervous system you might notice tingling, numbing sensations, pain and muscle weakness.

As you can probably imagine the only way to truly know is with medical tests and it is usually found on accident. So getting your checkups and medical tests done routinely can be beneficial.

The most common treatment is low doses of steroids to suppress inflammation and fit's guess work by the doctors figuring out the dosage and when to stop it.

The bad news is that long term use of these steroids can cause serious side effects such as bleeding in the stomach, diabetes, thin fragile skin and weak bones.

In some cases it goes away on it's own and that is great news. I really think there are better options to reduce the inflammation and support your body to get ride of the disease on it's own.

One of the best places to start is with a diet that is anti-inflammatory. This is lots of fruits and vegetables and not processed foods, junk meals and trans fats.
