Pharmacy calculations percentage strength weight-in-weight calculations are a convenient way of expressing concentration of active and inactive constituents in pharmaceutical preparations such as gels and ointment. Percent weight in weight is typically expressed as the number of grams of a constituent in 100 g of preparation. While these calculations are generally easy, a few require synthesis of several concepts and can require a little more effort to solve.
