Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has directed the Lusaka City Council and the Lusaka Provincial Administration to sort out the garbage problem at Luburma Market.

Mrs. NALUMANGO says it is a health hazard to have a huge pile of garbage at Luburma Market which hosts hundreds of traders on a daily basis.

Speaking when she led UPND members in cleaning the market as part of the ruling party's two years in power, Mrs. NALUMANGO directed the local authority and the provincial administration to clean up the garbage in two weeks.

She said traders need to operate in a decent environment devoid of health hazards.

And Luburma Market Master SITUMBEKO MULELA said the number of skip bins at the trading area is less and that there is need for more to accommodate the amount of garbage accumulating.

Ms. MULELA said she has called a meeting with the traders and other stakeholders to ensure that the collection of garbage is enhanced.
