'Akaka Falls is located near Hilo, Hawaii. The short, easy walk to the waterfall lookouts is perfect for families. It is a 0.4 mile loop. There are a lot of stairs so strollers are not practical here. Due to covid-19, it currently costs $10 per person to enter the park. Normally this park is free if you have a local ID, or $1-5 for tourists (I have seen varying prices online). There is a self pay machine at the entrance to the stairs. We saw only 2 other groups while we were there but it is normally heavily trafficked.
