KwadsRUs 2024 Summer GQ1 -- 240629

Once again took me like 6 qualifying sessions before I could actually start focus on making tight turns and pushing it, and trying to connect 3 good laps (always mess up the 3rd lap). This time I broke an arm on one of my OpenRacer frames. It was a hard hit that also seized an iFlight Xing-E Pro motor.

I might have ruined a couple LiperiAir (https://bit.ly/liperiair6s100c1350 or https://bit.ly/liperiairsn) packs by over-discharging them. When I mess up my 3rd lap to ruin the chance of a good consec3, I need to fly 6 laps for that flight even have a chance to get another conec3. That's when I over-discharge a pack.

Thanks to the OpenRacer frame design, it was quick and easy to replace the broken arm and the motor. I didn't even miss a 3-heat rotation. Unfortunately, I could barely connect 3x 14s laps at the qualifying, let alone back-to-back 13s laps that I could do on practice days.

Having not done Mains for a long time, first thing I did was blew my winner bracket chance by flying a dead pack. LOL And then I had to go up against my Mains-Mid-air-buddy Sickpixel from the indoor series. We had some prop-touching at some point and I just backed off for a safe 2nd position to move on.

The Final was an exiting one. While ‪@flywithmefpv‬ pulled slightly ahead, ‪@ZenithFPV‬ , Sickpixel, and I were quite even to fight for 2nd place. At one point, Sickpixel passed me and bumped me to 4th but I managed to get pretty close to Zenith on the last 2 laps, until he turned wide on the very last gate where I overtook and grabbed 2nd. And I got Consec3 of 42.7s at the Final, faster than my 43.9s in the qualifying rounds, but still slower than the couple 42.3s I got at practice.
