Not all facelifts are the same. Most common, archaic techniques pull the face horizontally toward the ears, which simply doesn’t make sense; as we described above, the face descends in a downward, vertical and oblique direction. Pulling the face horizontally is where that tell–tale stretched or wind–swept look comes from—the tight, unnatural look that generates the stigmas around plastic surgery.
