Making sensory jars for children is so quick and simple. Let your imagination go wild with what to fill them with.
Younger children will be fascinated with watching the jars contents slowly swirl and settle. Talk with them about the colours they see, and the movement of the contents. They will learn cause and effect as they shake the jars and watch the magic inside unfold!
For older children, sensory jars can be used as "calm down" jars. Shaking the jar and watching the contents swirl and settle down to the bottom of the jar, whilst breathing, can be an effective tool to help children regulate their emotions. A great tool to support mindfulness!
