1993年4月14日。筑波でのテストを終えたノリックは、幼稚園時代以来となる父の職場見学。阿部さんはこの優勝戦では２位につけていましたがチャタリングの影響で３位フィニッシュとなりました。
今でこそロードレースからオートレースへと転向する選手がいて、オートレースの認知度も二輪ファンの中で高まりましたが、当時私にとっても初となるオートレースの取材でしたので、阿部さんに色々と話をしていただきました。
