Tip #1 Mvt 3 Letter D: Phrase either away from the downbeat or to beat 4 to setup the right feel and character for the clarinet. The tendency is to bring out the release to the 6s killing the groove.

Tip #2 Mvt 3 Letter F: Make the downbeat grace notes after the 16ths short to keep the rhythm clear and to not be late to the downbeats. You can keep them all wide except that one, but I like to keep them all consistent.

Tip #3 Mvt 4 Letter Q: Stay in the same general playing area and use stick heights to get the crescendo. Moving too much on the drum causes excessive timbre changes and doesn’t get the desired effect. Work on downstrokes and staying relaxed in the hands.
