Nigeria Anti-Government Protest 2024 LIVE | Nationwide Protests Rock Nigeria | Lagos | N18G

Nigerians are again taking to the streets on October 1 to protest the government, on the 64th independence Day.

The protests are meant to be similar to the “EndBandGovernanceInNigera” protests which took place Aug. 1-10 and led to several deaths and multiple arrests.

Anti-government protests under slogans including "End Bad Governance” and "Revolution Now" are scheduled nationwide on Oct. 1.

Likely gathering locations of other gatherings include city centers of state capitals, notably near governor's offices, government buildings, such as the National Assembly in Abuja, major roads, including highways, and those from city centers to airports. Officials have banned some of the protest venues, such as in Lagos, where police announced two alternative protest locations, Freedom Park and Peace Park. In Abuja, police forces will restrict the movement of people and vehicles at Eagle Square due to Independence Day celebrations.
