Darbha holds significant importance in Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism), especially during rituals and ceremonies. Let’s explore why Darbha is revered and how it is used:

**Darbha: The Sacred Grass:
Darbha, also known as “kusha” grass, is a type of sacred grass found in India. It has long, slender blades and is considered purifying and spiritually potent.
In Sanskrit, Darbha is associated with the word “Tej,” which signifies radiance or brilliance.
**Role of Darbha in Rituals:
Shraddha Rituals: Darbha is an essential component in shraddha rituals performed to honor ancestors (Pitars). During these rituals:
Darbha generates Tej (radiance) due to its subtle properties.
The frequencies emitted by Darbha help reduce the interference of raja-tama particles during each step of the shraddha.
The deceased ancestors absorb specific energy levels from the ritual through Darbha1.
**Selection and Usage:
Selecting Darbha:
Pluck only green Darbha that grows on clean ground.
Avoid using Darbha that has fallen on paths, funeral pyres, sacrificial fire grounds, or has been used for other purposes.
Use Darbha along with its roots for Pitars’ shraddha, as it helps gain victory over the Pitruloka (ancestral realm).
Not Plucking by Hitting or Cutting:
Darbha should not be plucked by hitting it multiple times or cutting it with nails.
The Water Principle-dominant particles in Darbha with roots aid in disintegrating raja-tama particles.
The energy from actions done with rooted Darbha reaches the Pitars’ subtle sheath more quickly, strengthening them with Tej
