New Lynn is a suburb in West Auckland on the border with the Central Auckland area. With a shopping mall (LynnMall) and a main transport hub, New Lynn is one of West Auckland's more populous suburbs.

New Lynn is located towards the west of the Auckland urban area, 10 kilometres to the southwest of the Auckland city centre. Suburbs surrounding New Lynn include Blockhouse Bay, Avondale, Titirangi and Green Bay.

New Lynn railway station is on the Western Line of the Auckland railway network, New Zealand, and is part of an integrated transport centre where transfers can be made to and from bus services.

This walk begins on Great North Road near Totara Avenue, up Great North Road to Countdown New Lynn and splitting off partly through LynnMall's restaurant area. From there we head down Veronica Street and turn onto Totara Avenue towards New Lynn Transport Centre where we finish on Clark Street.
