This is the exact place where Maa Sita grew up. The very spot once held the palace of Maa Sita, This Janaki Mandir is dedicated to both Maa Sita and Bhagwan Rama. In 1657, a golden murti of Maa Sita was discovered at this exact location. and also this was the same place where Sannyasi Shurkishordas had uncovered the paintings of Goddess Sita. interestingly there is a temple in Ayodhya, known as Kanak Bhavan, which was constructed as an exact design of this temple. The temple is also known as the Nau Lakha Mandir, meaning "nine lakhs," as the construction cost matched the amount of gold coins. Queen Vrisha Bhanu built the current temple over the ancient Mahal in 1910. Every year, thousands of pilgrims from all over the world visit this Temple. next to the temple stands the Vivaha Mandap, where Bhagwan Rama and Maa Sita were married. I have made a separate video about that; please have a look. This entire complex is situated in Janakpurdham, Dhanusa District of Nepal. Jai Shree Ram.
This is one of the oldest and most beautiful God Rama Temples in Nepal. The temple was built in the late 1700s by Amar Singh Thapa, a Gorkhali General. The moment you step into the temple compound, you can feel the spiritual bliss. On the left side of the temple, you can also see an amazing Shiva temple and other small temples dedicated to various deities. Additionally, there are two unique arch-shaped trees within the temple compound. In the main pathway of the temple, you can find another temple, Rajdevi Mata Temple, dedicated to Maa Durga, who is also the Kuldevi of King Janaka. The architecture of the temple follows the traditional pagoda-style, similar to other shrines in the region.
The main festivals celebrated here are Diwali and Ram Navami, during which time the temple becomes crowded. This temple holds significance for Hindus all over the world as it is situated in Janakpurdham, Nepal, the birthplace of Goddess Sita, the wife of God Rama. The region was once the capital of the ancient Mithila kingdom, ruled by King Janaka, the father of Goddess Sita. These temples stand as symbols of the deep cultural and religious ties between Nepal and India. Jai Shree Ram.
In the southwestern corner of the Janaki Mandir complex lies the Vivah Mandap, a structure built on the very site where God Rama and Sita were married. Inside the mandap, you'll find vigrahas depicting the wedding ceremony guests. The Vivah Mandap is located within Janaki Vatika, a small garden near the Janaki Mandir. Nearby, you'll also find the Lakshmana Temple. Right next to the temple, you can see footprints believed to belong to God Rama and Goddess Sita. Additionally, a massive Saligram Shila adds to the spiritual significance of the site.
This entire complex is situated in the Janakpurdham
Dhanusa District of Nepal. Jai Shree Ram.
