Non-Dribble Ball Handling Guide

Описание к видео Non-Dribble Ball Handling Guide

One of the best things young players can do is non-dribbling ball handling.

The reason is to build comfort and trust in your hands' connection with the basketball.

By getting your hands as comfortable as possible with the basketball, you'll improve your skills and lay a solid foundation for the future. This will translate to every significant skill as your body matures and develops.

The more you trust handling the basketball, the smoother you can move it in rhythm with your body. This is the primary key to becoming a great shooter.

Remember, becoming a great ball handler starts with a strong foundation. This is not about trying to 'look cool' but pushing yourself every time you pick up the basketball. You can stay focused on building that foundation, and the rest will follow.

Coaching Point: In the following drills, be willing to mess up, fail, and look silly.

You can do any set of drills in this guide, whether timed or rep-based.

Push yourself! You should be messing up often. That's the only way to get better.

Timed: Keep track of your reps and try to beat that number each time.

Reps: Track the time it takes you to do a set number of reps and try to beat that number each time.

Or, you can pick up the basketball and perform a drill for no specific amount of time or reps. Just connect your hands with the ball, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!!
