How Your Goals Might Be Limiting You

Описание к видео How Your Goals Might Be Limiting You

After 20+ coaching conversations, Kathleen discovered a common thread: a sense of exhaustion and overwhelm, people reevaluating their lives and seeking clarity and purpose. In this unscripted Live on Air episode, Kathleen and Natalie discuss the limitations of goal setting, the differences between setting intention and setting goals, and how to be gentler with yourself when setting goals.

Together, Kathleen and Natalie have an insightful conversation on the pros and cons of goal setting and explore the idea of "leaning into possibility" in life. They believe that goals can be restrictive and it's more beneficial to hold onto them loosely as a direction to move towards. They suggest that every goal is driven by an underlying desire to feel a certain way and it's essential to go deeper into what that feeling is. They emphasize the importance of being open to all possibilities in life, as it can be unpredictable. By focusing on the feeling, one can expand their possibilities and create a more fulfilling experience.

While goals can be useful for tangible outcomes like running a marathon or getting out of debt, they can be limiting in the broader context of one's life. Life is not linear, and many intended and unintended factors contribute to where we are in life today. Rather than focusing solely on goals, everyone should explore how they want to feel and what we want to create in life. What are you wanting your goals to bring you? SMART goals can feel constricting and when you take a more flexible approach to goal setting, one where intention is at the forefront, you can be kinder and gentler to yourself while inviting more clarity and purpose.

In addition to this unscripted conversation, Kathleen is running a 5-day "You Are Inevitable" ANTI Challenge (https://challenge.kathleenseeley.com/) consisting of identifying, exploring, and aligning your values to bring more ease and flow into your life.
