The Large Hadron Collider is the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator. The beams inside the #LHC are made to collide at four locations around the accelerator ring, corresponding to the positions of four particle detectors – ATLAS, CMS, ALICE and LHCb.

#Didyouknow The world's heaviest #particle detector, Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS), is not just full of steel “yoke” that forms the bulk of the detector’s 14,000-tonne weight and cylindrical coils of superconducting cables that adds the impressive colour to this unique detector — it also has GEMs!

These new muon system inside the spectacular science experiment will help leading us to find out precisely what is our #universe made of.. like the #Higgsboson aka the #Godparticle!
