This is a timelapse and image documentary of 100 days of construction of the ultimate detached garage / workshop / mancave. At least one image was taken per day (more on actual construction days), then aligned and sequenced into a timelapse. Construction took place over the summer of 2007 with the landscaping work being completed end of summer 2009. Most of the rough landscaping (or work requiring machinery) was performed by a hired company. But we completed the majority of the finish work (planing beds, mulch, decorative stone, lawn leveling and seeding, etc.) to get it to our desired estate-type look.

Custom designed and built by Andy MacDonald, the garage itself is an oversized three car (2+1) with space to store a tractor and a car and still have space for a woodworking shop set-up. I installed a computer audio system for shop too. A 2nd floor storage area and guest bedroom was built in the "attic space" above. The dormer windows were added as an after thought which is why the roof trusses still extend into them. Regardless though, there is still plenty of storage space and room up there. The guest bedroom is a three-season insulated room decorated by none other than my mother! Inspired by the East-Coast, the room even has a view of Cape Breton Island if you look East out the window (on a clear day).
