Loneliness crisis: Three people hit by acute loneliness - and how they face up to it | ITV News

Leading organisations issued a warning on Friday about the strain the cost of living crisis is putting on mental health care in England and Wales.

Campaigners say loneliness is a blight on growing numbers of peoples' lives and they want the next prime minister to make tackling the issue as a priority.

Four years ago, the government approved the world's first loneliness minister but a leading charity said since then, Covid and the spiralling cost of living crisis, have massively raised the pressure on acutely lonely people.

ITV News heard from three people who have suffered severe loneliness - and how they faced up to it.
