World's Fearless African Tribe. I Can't Forget The Things I Saw! Dipri De Gomon (Part 1)
Today I'm taking you to a festival,you have never seen. The Dipri Festival is a celebration held by the Abidji tribe in Gomon, Côte d'Ivoire Ivory Coast.

First, relatives or neighbors meet on the evening before the celebration to reconcile their differences.

The Dipri has codes and rules like all cultural festivals and the first is to arrive in the village the day before the Dipri. The instruction is clear, no soul enters or leaves the village on the day of Dipri.Dressed in white with candles, each inhabitant goes to the cemetery to invite the deceased to the ceremony the next day.

Gomon village is located about 80km from Abidjan. So this is the first part of the festival. The Abidji people come from the Akan group.The Dipri day begins at 4 a.m. and foreigners are forbidden to leave the house

For the first morning, some people fall into a trance and eat either fresh eggs or unripe bananas which I was told in spiritual, it's cooked. Others prick their stomachs with a knife and heal with leaves placed on the wound. Don't worry, this trance doesn't “touch” strangers. And so these are trances, greetings, gifts of power, but also the opportunity to heal a sick family member.

Let me know in the comment section below which animal have you seen being imitated and at what minute in the video.I'm being told that the people are acting like different animals with the guidance of SEkES which is a beneficient spirit that has possessed them.

This festival serves several purposes: it resolves conflicts between generations and in the community, it drives away evil spirits, and it purifies the celebrants.

Then, during the festival, people go into frenzied trances as they are possessed by sÉkÉs —beneficient spirits—and stumble, dazed, in the street. Some people, supposedly led by the spirits, plunge knives into their bodies and then, with the guidance of the sÉkÉs, are healed with poultices of raw eggs and herbs.
