A shocking video has emerged from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, in which a school teacher now identified as Tripti Tyagi can be seen exhorting students to hit their year old Muslim classmate. She references the word 'Mohammadan' which means Muslim.

On the video, the child can be heard sobbing as a man laughs in the background

The police say the teacher wanted to say that Muslim mothers who do not pay attention the homework of their children are hurting their interests but do not as of now explain how and why the child was hit.

The opposition has widely shared the video nd demanded answers. India's child rights panel has urged the media not to show the video to protect the childs identity. We are however displaying an image of the school teacher
