One of the biggest and busiest sites in the Wisconsin state park system is Peninsula State Park in Door County.

The 60-foot-tall Eagle Tower sits about 250 feet above the water and features an 850-foot handicap-accessible ramp. Peninsula State Park Superintendent Eric Hyde says the tower is popular.

There are 468 reservable family campsites, and Nicolet Beach offers fun for those looking to take a swim in the waters of Nicolet Bay.

Just up the shoreline, the historic Eagle Bluff Lighthouse is open to visitors. Hyde says the highlight of the park may be a geologic feature called the Niagara Escarpment.

A trip down Skyline Road leads to a lookout called Sven's Bluff.

Peninsula State Park also features golfing. There's an 18-hole course, a six-hole course and a driving range to practice.
