Martin Sheen is back in Ireland for the making of Stella Days. A small Tipperary town, is being transformed with the arrival of over a hundred actors and a film crew.

Fethard in Tipperary has never seen the likes of it. The heritage town is buzzing with lights, cameras, clapper-boards and of course action. The three week shoot is worth tens of thousands of euro to the local economy.

Many locals, including John Hennessy and Sean O’Meara are earning around 65 euros a day as extras and are delighted to be taking part in the film and getting to mix with stars such as Martin Sheen.

Veteran actor Sheen, well known for his roles in Apocalypse Now, Badlands, Wall Street and the West Wing, plays film-loving priest Father Daniel in Stella Days. The actor loves being back in Ireland and he adores Fethard and Tipperary. Filming will take him to Dublin before he heads back to the US again where Sheen says,

I have to start on another film shortly after I get home, Spiderman Four I think it’s called.

All in all, it will be a big change from Fethard.
